New TECHNIC sets for 2008

Which can be the best way to start this new project (the TechnicBRICKs Blog), than some images from the LEGO retailer catalog for 2008, that leaked into BrickShelf ;-) !?

Here are the new TECHNIC models, that will hit the store shelves at the first half of 2008.

Now it's time to wait for the 2nd half news...
Would like to see a kit set with new Power Functions elements, much like 8271 or 8735.

Some sources also mention an extension cable that would allow to connect old 9V motors with PF elements, is expected to be available early 2008.
This would bring also compatibility from both systems above, with MINDSTORMS NXT.

I was disapointed by that yellow truck set, because when you compare the bulldozer with that... well it's kinda sad :D

Thanks Roger!
You are a pioneer ;-)

You are right about the yellow. It a topic I also plan to present here sometime ahead.

Because most of we are already plenty of yellow TECHNIC bricks, I believe it would be time for LEGO to start building their construction machines with a slightly different coloration. Orange or Light Orange for instance, since it is a very common color for such machines in real life.
Not really the case for this truck, but for many others.

It is not by chance, that the main color of TechnicBRICKs blogsopt, is actually the orange...

But remember that this is the catalogue for the first half of 2008, and the real juice usually comes only during the second half... but, anyway, beating this year's Bulldozer won't be easy!

Yeap!

Sets like the Bulldozer, would not come up every year. :-/

I believe the Bulldozer will keep as the TECHNIC flagship, at least for 2 years, like it happened in the past with other great TECHNIC sets.
