Today I come with another video with a creation form Sivan Toledo.
It is a simple Power Functions enable car with remote control, but it worths to see, to illustrate some principles.
The Dual Differential Drive (DDD), makes it easier to drive straight.
Nice ride, with the camera on the driver's view. :P

The dual-differential drive has another advantage over the earlier Ackerman steering shown in the video: it allows for zero-radius curves.
However, comparing to the traditional differential drive (each motor drives its wheel), it has the disadvantage of using only one motor to go straight, instead of using both motors' strength. Definitely not recommended for Sumo competitions!
Yet, it has the advantage of perfect straight trajectories, like the video showed. Since no two motors are exactly the same, a pure differential drive will always tend to lean to one side. So, for precision over strength, dual-differential is the way to go!
Also, the "1st-person perspective" was very amusing, and reminded me of the intro for the Police Squad movies... I almost expected the car to start chasing some poor innocent cat! :D
