LEGOWORLD 2010 (in Zwolle), closed its doors the past week.
The participants who are now recovering from the tiring days are also finally starting to produce and post their videos from the event.
One that most raised my attention was this "Space Elevator", in a video from Peer Kreuger (mahjqa). Probably inspired from these ones [1] [2], also published a few days ago, by Isogawa Yoshihito.
Has he explains, there was a power line coming from the ceiling at their stand and it would have been a shame not to use it...
After all it was juts a regular compact photocamera, recording all offline, as you may see through the comments...

Another great thing is that the videos now popping up, focus mainly on the several Technic and MINDSTORMS booths. Hence you may get a good overview from these models exhibited this year at LW.
So lets take a look!
There you will find many, many constructions that we have seen to appear during the last weeks (or not so recent), like: DrywFiltiarn's LEGO Factory and Will's MakerBot, Philo's 3D Laser Scaner, the Air powered car and the Avatar battle helicopter both from barebos/barman, two WALL-E designs, a robot remotely controlled from an helmet by NeXTSTORM (Vassilis), the Monster Chess, a few Omnibots and even a self-balancing motorcicle... just to name a few...
Enjoy!

Wow! Really impressive! I wish I Was there!!! Thanks for sharing!
The gray "wire" in the space elevator video is not a wire connected to the camera, it was just a piece of rope in case things went wrong with the device.
In order to make the video, Mahjqa build himself a cable climber. The black cable was a powercable reaching up to the ceiling. A power-functions remote controlled construction was capable of climbing that cable. Due to the unreliability of the power-functions remote/receiver a line was attachted to be able to retrieve it in case reception would be lost.
Ok, thanks for the update Martijn! :)
In fact it also occurred to me that the cable seems too long, and didn't notice any connector for a cable extension at some point.
However since I realize the quality was too good for an wireless camera, it looked the best hypothesis.
So do you mean the camera is really wireless, or there is yet another cable?
It's just a standard photocamera with a video recording function. It was recording the entire time. After the descent the camera and the recording were retrieved.
"This video is not available in your country." Oh, come on!
Which video? Where are you from?
I was stunned with some creations.
How I wish that I could saw all that for myself.
Well... I'm at least glad to saw it on the net.
Thanks to all those that shared.
In addition to the great Technic display, an interesting fact about LEGOWORLD 2010 is that it had the biggest MINDSTORMS booth ever and the largest number of participants in the history of the event. There were participants from 14 different countries and we had the largest group of MCPs ever!
@Peer,
ohhh...
That's me always thinking about live streaming and stuff like that, thus complicating things... ;)
So it was the simplest solution possible. Almost always the best approach. :)
"This video is not available in your country." Getting this too for the first video. (Germany)
