The Challenge was closed in the beginning of this moth, and I received the prizes together with the 8066 building instructions, mid of last week.
It's time to start looking at the entries more in detail and counting for the mismatches soon. I should be able to find the time to do it, by these days.
Because this year's model didn't made use of any flexible parts, it turned much easier to model, thus making the number of submissions to increase. Fortunately not too much!...

Thirteen was the number of valid submissions, despite not all them looking 100% complete.
But some of those willing to participate, still revealed difficulties in using LDraw tools, as they are not used too them. Some have also used LDD to draw their submission and tried the best possible conversion to LDraw, which seems still to be a toolset for LEGO geeks.
In the order of their entrance, here is the list of submissions and respective authors:
- John Vlemmix (Jovel) - NL
- Eric Albrecht (Blakbird) - US
- Jernej Krmelj (Zblj) - SI
- Gabriel Martinez (Parda) - SP
- Daniel Gould - UK
- Javier Martinez (PotaG) - SP
- Scott Pomeroy - US
- Nathanaël Kuipers (Industrial Designer) - SE
- Philippe Hurbain (Philo) - FR
- Han Crielaard (Designer-Han) - NL
- Cyrus Tabrizi - US
- Dejan Avgustin - SI
- Luc Worms (Luc2000) - NL
- Gerald Lasser (submission not considered, because it arrived already after the contest have been closed)
Bellow you may look at the renders provided by the participants, with their submissions.
The submitted renders
In order of appearance from left to right: John, Eric, Jernej, Gabriel (2), Daniel, Javier, Scott (3), Nathanaël, Philippe (2), Han, Cyrus, Dejan and Luc.
At this point, I'd like to highlight the image sent by Eric, for the effort put in producing one more of his usual high-quality and photo-realistic renders, and another one by Daniel.

Like in the previous year, Scott came again with some imagination... However in a different way this time.

One well imagined pivoted hood, revealing the motor that doesn't exist at all (guess the contest mismatch counter, will again overflow...) and a funny colored version.
If you know what he was planning, just if the contest model had been a different one...
On a side note, a concern about this edition of the TechREVERSE Chalange, was the image published the day before of its start, by Barman. As I said at the time, I didn't see it as an issue because it was just one interpretation or his best guess, which could have been right or wrong. So everyone's guesses at this point are valid and it would be better to participate with each one guesses, than with eventual mistakes from others.
Want however to make here also a tribute to Barman and 'Martijn, Eric & Gerrit' SUV versions, which ended not submitted into the competition because of some difficulties with MLCad or the lack of time to do it.

Others' reproductions
What does cars have?
Many things! Ex. wheels, motor, seats... and lights!!
Headlights in the front and tail lights at the rear side!!!

That's it!... many of you not only didn't saw them on the small picture, from the top-right corner in the box image, but also didn't notice they they were missing on the model you designed (even some of those who have built it from real LEGO bricks).
The LEGO Designers never forget the lights in their vehicles...

If someone was tempted to follow the pictures from Barman's replica, published the day before the contest start, it was not the brightest idea. Also he missed the tail lights in its first version. He was however very kind not uploading new images till the Challenge closure.

Apart from the tail lights, among other less easy details to guess in this model , I think it was the under hood front suspension and the correct shock absorber spring stiffness.
Let me express here in advance how thankful we're for those who participated, and for the LEGO Technic design team to have accepted to collaborate with TBs

To all contestants:
Nicely done. I'm always amazed by the keen eye and expert building-skills of you all. Such great work with so little info.
To Conchas: Good luck in the judging...
Thanks for adding our little crazy models in there, even tough we did not draw them.
PS we asked, at FLL finals, what color schema was the best, ending the colorful version as number 1!

Although I did not enter I would still like to express my gratitude towards TBs and TLG for offering such a competition and nice prizes, it's really cool of them to do this for their fans, thankyou.
And for those who would like to know how the model is built...

(Made ofcourse by me....)
I have just managed to smooth all the surfaces in blender by joining the 10000 meshes and removing duplicated vertices.
Today I made an animated .gif of the SUV at 160 angles. I rendered each frame at 960x540. The render took 2-3 hours on my Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz laptop. I have uploaded the animation to brickshelf at 480x270:
