Philippe Hurbain recenty reported he has complete the hard work of Donal Sutter and Orion Pobursky and modelled the missing parts of the Technic Figure [1]:
However, as he points out in the initial message:
Posing the figure may be quite tricky, but thanks to the advanced rotations features of LeoCAD, it's manageable.
You can download the ldr files for the two above images here [2, 3] and have a look.
It would be really interesting to get a Technic Fig generator, much like the minifig generator available in MLCad, but until that is created (in whatever form) there is another way to go about this for now: J.C. Tang has created two mpd files, one of a standard Technic fig and a second of a posing Technic fig. These files are an excellent starting point to create your own Technic figs.
Remember that you will likely not have all the necessary parts in your library. In order to get them easily, you can follow the explanations on getting part files with LDView [4]. You can also get the parts from the LDraw Parts Tracker.

This is great!
I've already some ideas rolling out... ;)
Aww... this just makes me wish that Lego would make new ones of these...
Yes! Yes!!...
It's about time! Please!... :)
Despite I've managed one way to pose the figure in MLCad with relative ease, LeoCAD seems easier to handle.
However after adding the new unofficial .dat parts to LDraw, these are not recognized by LeoCAD.
Does anyone knows an easy way to overcome this? Or should I wait for a LeoCAD parts library update?... Which may never happen...
I like mini-figures but I never really liked these TECHNIC figures because to me they're a smaller barbie/ken doll. If LEGO remakes them, I hope they are available separately because I don't won't them included in a set that I want to buy.
Really good news!!
Oh, I really miss technic figures.Lego bring back some, please!P.s.:I have 5 TF.
I also own 5 of these old Technic Figures. But I never liked to play with them, not even when I was a child. In my opinion they looked odd in many models, because Lego squeezed them in, even if they did not fit the size of the model. I fear the same would happen today, if these were returned.
Not being bound to a fixed size seat contributed to the improvements in design of Technic models we have seen over the years.
