Technic news from the London Toy Fair

Today Huw Millington from Brickset.com, went to the London Toy Fair to see which news LEGO had to present for the 2nd half. While it was not possible to take photos even from outside the LEGO booth (which was covered this year) he took some notes and made a short report.

Here you can read his comments on the 2H LEGO Technic sets, to be released in August.
Below also the transcript, for your convenience.

  • 42001, Mini Off-roader, a very small model but with full suspension, orange body
  • 42005, Monster Truck, large wheels, hefty tyres, red body, full suspension. Not to my taste but it looked quite cool
  • 42008, Service Truck, £100, absolutely fantastic rescue vehicle, the sort you might see rescuing a lorry from the motorway. Green body, red highlights. Power functions, with motorised lift and outriggers.
  • 42009, Mobile Crane Mk II, £150. A ten wheeled monster of a mobile crane which looks superb. Said to be the largest Technic model ever in terms of number of pieces. It's equipped with Power Functions, including one of the new style motors, which look as if they operate all aspects of the crane's movement. I've gone off large Technic models a bit lately, but this is one I will definitely be getting.

Guess it won't take much time until we get further details from other Toy Fairs around the world, as usual.

Ok sounds good, but where are the HD pics? :) Or is it not allowed to take a photo on the toy fair? Or LEGO prohibits to make them public? I am very interested in the new crane, and the Service truck.
